Being in Awe of God!
Welcome to Friday’s Craft and Chat. I am so glad you have joined me today. I hope your week has been a good one. I wish mine had been but it has not been. My world has been turned upside down this week. I have received one bad news after another. The first bad news that I received was my father was rushed to the hospital. He was able to walk so they had to get the ambulance to get it out of the house. Since I am such a daddy’s girl just knowing this made me very concerned. Then on Sunday during the super bowl, my father’s house burned down to the ground. No one got hurt but he lost everything including his cars. All this happen without my father knowing about it. You can only imagine how the news of his whole life being burned up affected him. Then, today we received word that he has a mass on his heart. I guess when things go bad it goes bad. I also very thankful he was not at home when the fire happened. Oh, how I can see God’s hand in this situation. and even though it bad it is good. This week, I have been thanking God, praying, and praising God. I never really understood how to be in awe of God but today, I can say I am in awe of God.
The question of today is if you have ever had a time you were in awe of God? After that time was your life changed? I find myself since my awe moment thinking more about my blessing and stuff I have taken for granted. I have been able to see God’s hand in things I do leading up to this awe moment. I see it in my card making. It is in other parts of my life as well. I just hope I do not let God down because He is owed more than lip serves for me. A change is going to come!
A lot of you will have winter type weather this weekend. We had a winter mix here last night and more to come. It will be great crafting weather. Make a pot of coffee and put some kind of baked goods in the oven and just craft away. It will warm your heart. If you can watch the snow, ice, or winter mix fall while you craft it will be a great inspiration.
I am going to grab a cup of coffee and meet you back in the craft room to start the crafting part of this blog.
Crafting Steps
Today’s card is another card from my Valentine’s series. This card is a card on a card. It is a 5′ by 7′ card.
Materials
8 1/2′ by 11′ Pink card stock
2 8 1/2′ by 11′ White card stock
6′ by 6′ Red card stock
6′ by 6′ Pink card stock
2 different hearts
Be My Valentine sentiment die
Glue
Die-cutting machine (I used the Big Shot)
Steps:
- Cut the 8 1/2′ by 11′ Pink Card stock down to 5′ by 7′.
- Fold a piece of white card stock in half. Place a solid heart die on the fold and cut it out.
- Take the pink card stock and cut out another heart that has a lace cut out and apply it on top of the heart shape card.
- Cut out Be my Valentine with the red card stock.
- Put the heart-shaped card in the middle of the Pink card base.
- Glue Be My Valentine around the heart-shaped card.
- Cut a piece of white card stock and added to the inside of the card.
Word of the Day
The word of today is strength. Where do we find the strength to make changes in our lives? Do we need strength to change? When I google the meaning of strength it said the quality or state of being physically strong. To change something in your life is hard so you need strength to do it.
