It is Monday that means it is Highlight Monday. I am glad you with me this Monday. Today in Arkansas, the sun is shining bright with the wind blowing gently. I hope the weather where you are is as good. Since it is Highlight Monday, we will be doing two techniques, yes two. Are you ready to get started? First, let me grab a cup of coffee and meet you in the craft room.

Crafting Steps

Faux torn and kiss technique

The two techniques we will be doing are the Faux Torn and Kissing technique. The Faux Torn technique is where you tear a piece of copy paper toward you, and then you lay it on a card base at the top and bottom. You then will stamp with a background stamp in the opening between the torn paper. The kissing technique is where you stamp a solid stamp onto a piece of paper, and then you go back over the stamp image with a design you have gotten from another stamp. Using these two techniques together makes a nice-looking card.

Are you ready to have a little fun while we make the card for today? To spice up our card-making today for every time, I say technique; you have to drank something.

Materials needed for the Faux Torn technique are:

A2 white card base

A bold background stamp

Copying paper

Ink

Materials for the Kissing Technique are:

A piece of white card stock that is the with of the card base.

Use the same bold background stamp from the Faux Torn technique.

A solid stamp

Steps:

  1. Tear the copy paper toward you.
  2. Lay the torn paper on the card base leaving a gap. The torn paper will act as a mask.
  3. Ink up a bold background stamp and stamp it in the gap between the two torn pieces of paper.
  4. Set the card base aside.
  5. Take a piece of white card stock and cut it 4 1/2′ by 3′.
  6. Take a solid stamp and stamp it two times across.
  7. Clean solid stamp off and ink up the background stamp.
  8. Kiss the solid stamp up against the background stamp to transfer its design onto the cleaned stamp.
  9. Restamp the stamp image with the design.
  10. Attach the sentiment to the bottom of the card base.

Now we have a card using the two techniques.

Word of the Day

The word of today is Sanity. How many of you think you are losing your sanity? Lately, I feel I am losing my sanity. Some days are better than others. I know card-making has kept me from losing my sanity altogether. Please comment below on things that you have done to stop the feeling of losing your sanity. We are all in this together, and if we can share our coping skills, that would be great.

I have taken up enough of your time today it time I end this blog. I hope you all will be safe, and please find time to craft and create and I will see you soon.
